"Mind over matter." "Visualization." Whatever your phrase, putting it into practice isn't as natural as you might like.
I've found myself returning with renewed effort and determination to my daily exercise routine. I do 5 reps today? I see myself doing 10 someday in the future. I do a set of 25 of another exercise? "Someday," I say, "It'll be a hundred!" Of course, reality doesn't bend so easily to will, but if you see yourself doing something, it's a whole heck of a lot more likely for you to be able to do it.
