Communication may not be the problem in school cultures, but it's certainly the solution (or the key to all solutions). Without it, problems are acknowledged only in silos... misunderstandings breed contempt, resentment, and the like... classroom management becomes a power struggle... educators (not just teachers) don't get supported in their professional and personal goals... and our schools continue to be plagued by Edxit-bound transitioning teachers.*
This communication issue usually gets buried under reports of other barriers to success: lack of time... large classes... low resources... social tensions... etc. But what can't be solved by open, honest, and empathy-driven communication?
