So often, new teachers feel like the weight of the world is on their shoulders, and that they're letting their students down right and left. On top of it, they're "new meat" among the faculty, their boundaries are almost non-existent, and anytime they say "no" they're left feeling like they have let their departments and leadership down, as well. It can all add up to be a pretty sucky time. Given that new teachers are typically pretty young with limited life (and definitely professional) experience, the high are very high and the lows very low.
