Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
After about 1pm on an all-day tournament, everyone is tired and just going on adrenaline. By 3pm, there's a bit of an uptick, since the Awards Ceremony would then just be an hour away and the last group of competitors are going. By 3:30, the students / parents / coaches are trying to rehydrate and are eager for the awards to start - meanwhile all the event supervisors and co-directors / etc. are working hard to tally scores and triple-check awards and export the presentation in its final form.

"Sound check... is this thing on?" My radio- / M.C. voice is still sore this morning, but the kiddoes had a lot of fun (and so did all the adults!) A feature we plugged at the end of the Ceremony was the need for older #students to _reach back_ and #mentor their younger peers - to get them excited about and prepared for upcoming competitions.

Here's to next week's tournament - where we shift from the #highschool to #middleschool division and do it all again.
