Teachers get exhausted, y'all. I'm no stranger to grueling manual labor (having grown up in the Construction field and never quite graduating past "grunt,"), but there's just something about the "Use 'em Up, Wear 'em Out" approach to teachers (whether it's their main workload or they heap on a couple of part-time jobs, which is usually the case).
Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
I've had many dreams about #teaching. Sometimes, I teach entire lessons or across multiple periods/classes in one night. At times I am teaching in a #k12 classroom, in others, at the #college or #university level.
HOWEVER.. I don't believe I've ever fallen asleep _while_ teaching. Now there WAS that _one time_ during STUDENT teaching... but that's a #TeachedUpComics edition for another day.
So the next time you think a teacher is "out on their feet," well... give them a gentle shoulder tap... because they probably are.
