Spoiler Alert: this one's NOT about a long sandwich filled with meat-and-veggie goodness. Now you may proceed.
Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
Your #substituteteacher has arrived.
Anyone who has ever _needed_ a substitute #teacher knows just how messy this process can be (and how much work it takes to take off of work (read that one again, it was genius)).
You also know that what results in the classroom _after_ a sub has been there is often a surprise (sometimes a pleasant one, but rarely if ever a neutral one).
I do have a few stories about substitute teachers. Precious few, however, because I honestly rarely took time off. It's a catch 22 that all #K12teachers know about: it is harder to have a sub than to just muscle through or skip events occurring outside of the classroom. There is just way more planning and trouble involved in having to be OUT of the classroom than if you stuck it out and stayed.
Well, we can talk about substitute teachers more some other day. For now, I have a feeling Mr. Culpepper's class is in good hands, and he'll come back to a classroom kept in order.
No, I have no idea where this substitute teacher came from.
No, I did not see an I.D. badge pinned to her .. Dress? Hospital gown? Nightgown? <-- who the heck draws these things?
Am I still the only person who's hungry because of the title "Sub Surprise"?
