And the conversation continues:

Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
Here's another comic that ISN'T FUNNY. So far I've produced 16 of these #TeachedUpComics.

Many of them are just NOT funny. Why is that? Well, consider the subject matter: #education #teaching #students - some heavy topics to cover, here. This comic is about Mr. Culpepper and his journey as a (currently) new teacher. Over the years, we'll see Pepp grow and change - maybe he'll stay in education, maybe he'll transition and join the Edxit revolution, maybe he'll.. well, let's focus on today.

Here you have it folks - what do you think? I'm hoping Bob can help our pal out a bit.

A little foreshadowing to keep you interested (and not blocking me because you hate serious comics..!) here's a sneak-peak at my plans for tomorrow, in 3 words: toilet paper roll. <-- if THAT doesn't have you hooked, I don't know what will.

(Follow my account and share this with the educators and adults-of-students in your networks please <-- shameless ask)
You know what I really like about Bob? He's not drenched in toxic positivity. Instead, he's "been there" and gotten through things. In fact, I bet Bob's been through more junk than he lets on. But here he is near the end of his teaching career (or at least, far closer than Tony Culpepper is), and he's somehow managed to avoid teacher burnout.

School culture does morph over time, and new challenges arise and take on somewhat different forms, but education changes at a different pace. Unfortunately, the problems and uncertainties Pepp faces are likely what Bob faced - and what a hundred million other teachers are facing. The BIG challenges may differ, but the underlying uncertainties I suspect are fundamentally similar.
