a talkative student ends up rolling out the door somehow

Back to the Previous Strip | Onward to the Next Comic!

Everyone once in a while, a teacher gives into a sudden Impulse. This is rarely a good idea, but that's why the make roly chairs: to blur the lines between bad ideas and epic ideas.

Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
Not everyone will understand this one.

If you can't tell (I should have made this a GIF!), the student is moving out the door... I will let you decide how that happened. Hints: #physics #impulse #momentum #teaching

Yet another highly-engaging edition of #TeachedUpComics
I once wrote a poem about an "Impulsive Girl" (yeah, it was a parody of the song "a Barbie girl" (or whatever it's called...), but with a Physics theme. If you ask me reaaaally nicely in the TeachedUp Comics Fan Club, I'll see if I can dredge it up. ;0)

For your reading pleasure, here it is, in its original glory:
An Impulsive World -- A MrLaFazia.com Original Adaptation (Set to "Barbie Girl"...) -- First Presented June 11th, 2009 ================================================================================= She's an impulsive girl,
In an impulsive world.
Doesn't think first,
...just wants to be first!

Takes so little time,
Her momentum's slope does climb.
Just so steeply,
...It rises quickly!

She's an impulsive girl,
In an impulsive world.
Does her work fast,
...Bounces back fast!

Her peak is at its prime,
Just graph Force vs. time.
People slower,
...their Force-average lower!

She's an impulsive girl,
In an impulsive world. . . . . .
(((FADE OUT)))
So that's that. I promise it makes more sense within the context of the actual Physics lesson..
