Teachers and Administrators, have you ever just wondered whether your needs are at odds with each other? I've observed over the years that admins have a "checklist" of things they are working on that typically seem to work against the immediate needs of teachers (or make their day-to-day more cumbersome). It doesn't mean the "checklist" isn't crucial to school operation, or that it doesn't have broader implications that ultimately go into supporting students and faculty/staff... Well, our friend Pepp suffers from the consequences of this fact in today's episode.

Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
Just when you thought it was safe to start #curriculumdevelopment and #planningahead. Another edition of TeachedUp Comics to get your day started off with a little humor.
How could this scenario have been improved? Communication really would have helped, here. Clear and early communication. Perhaps even a conversation about instructional support needs. Why was Ms. Sult in the classroom to begin with? What unintentional messaging was communicated by removing her? Which students will be most underserved by her absence?

Principal Greene and Mr. Anthony Culpepper both leave this scenario feeling misunderstood.. and Ms. Sult leaves feeling undervalued and unimportant. This contributes to a lowering of morale and is a demerit against the school's culture.

Take the time to Communicate. I'll hit on this point forever.
