It's not uncommon for teachers to find a side-hustle to make some extra (or not-so-extra) cash.

Here's what I originally shared on LinkedIn:
You know you're an academic if you like this #webcomic.

In this #TeachedUpComics episode, Mr. Culpepper has started working for Bob as a side-hustle in the #construction industry.

You can take the educator out of the school, but you can't take the school out of the educator.

You're REALLY an academic if you Repost this with your network because you know that they're gonna love the Academ-ese references.

Want to make sure that you don't miss any of these comics? Set your notifications to alert you when a new one comes out! No, I have no idea how to do this. Yes, I'll look it up for you if you want me to. ;0)
Incidentally, I'm both a huge fan of teachers developing themselves further in side-gigs and I'm a big fan of scaffolded learning (basically, for those who don't know, that's where you build students up to a certain point (scaffolding is assembled in levels) and then gradually remove the "scaffolding" toward building indepedence - at least, that's how I use it).

The analogy actually isn't perfect when you think it all the way through in a construction jobsite context (none are), but it's a useful framework (pun intended).
